The treatment
is performed in the office.
The area to be treated is covered
with a layer of clear ultrasound
gel to facilitate movement of
the treatment tip over the skin,
as well as to enhance the protection
of the skin.
Multiple individual spots will
be treated with the treatment
tip, which automatically cools
the spot, administers the energy
as a "shot" and then
cools the spot again. The treatment
tip will feel cold on your skin
both before and after each "shot".
During the actual "shot"
the tip will remain cold and
painless.
The energy level will be adjusted,
so that you feel comfortable.
You will need to wear protective
eyeglasses or goggles to protect
your eyes from the IPL light.
After the procedure, the treated
areas of the skin may be mildly
red and swollen. This usually
resolves over the next 24-hour
period. The skin may also have
a temporary stinging or burning
sensation. This usually resolves
within a few hours or less.
Make-up can be worn immediately
following the procedure. |
